Today, more than ever, our worst enemy is fear. A fear generated by the unknown, amplified by the current world events and media, spreaded by word of mouth. Fear is the mind-killer, and without a clear mind we are not able to make the best decisions. We hesitate. We miss opportunities. Our attention is disturbed and shifted from what really matters...
...in which direction should we turn our attention then?
In life we must appreciate each and every moment and feel its joy. With joy, optimism will be back, and the energy to reinterpret your own journey: as children, as siblings, as parents, as people and also as inspiring leaders.
Our task is to inspire people to be more aware and help each other in focusing on the beauty of the little things, leaving fear behind us...

In 1992, as soon as I finished my studies in economics, I decided to leave my beloved hometown Verona and to try my first experience abroad. Frankly, I didn't know the world... not to mention Hungary! I was given the opportunity through other family friends to do a one-year internship in an English consulting company based in Budapest...

Fear is an elemental part of the human make up. It’s been there from the very beginning: Fear of the unknown; fear of the uncertain; fear of the dark; fear of wild animals, of drought, or flood, or famine. It plays into our earliest survival strategy, one of the considerations the brain factors into the flight or fight equation...

Horváth János
20 years of corporate leadership roles taught me a lot. Worked with great teams, understood the logic of consulting, banking, telecommunications, media, company information services. I always had a passion for SMEs from the very beginning, so much, that I ended up being the owner of one, bridging the two worlds. A dream came true, a community, a premium business club for executives of very different sizes of companies being together. Sharing ideas, inspiring each other, having the sense of belonging and of course establishing lucrative, exciting new business opportunities. 2019 was a turning point and a great year has started with 2020...

Like probably for many of us, my personal reactions to the pandemic followed the classical change curve with a moment of shock, a period of disbelieve, denial, anger frustration and then moved on to acceptance, adaption of new behaviors and eventually a certain level of integration. Sometimes I am finding myself going back through the same steps in circles...

The Grandhouse International Club.
"A club, which bans fear and invites optimism”.
The Grandhouse International Club was founded by Dr. Albert Royaards in 2011 with the aim of establishing a place where members, irrespective of race, nationality, political affiliation, religion and sex, could regularly meet and discuss any subject...

Gabriele Gori
My partners and I had nearly a hundred employees and a thriving restaurant business between the UK and Italy at the beginning of 2020. The industry hasn’t been at its peak for the last decade and margins have been getting thinner every year, but in the last two quarters of 2019 we had managed to consolidate the group, made processes more efficient and reduced costs, still supporting our teams and their families...

Be open minded to consider a change of mind-set and brave to implement the action plan of the identified change. Although I recognize that a lot of discipline is required, focus your energy on the opportunities change may offer, rather than the challenges it presents. Like many of us, over the years in my personal and professional life, I have faced the fear and uncertainty created by catastrophic and completely unexpected events, or even life decisions which certainly presented challenges and were outside mine and most people's comfort zone...

30 years ago, there were 5 billion people. Today there are over 7 billion. The global market has risen by 30% - so that is at least 30% more companies available today, than when I started my company, Workplus, 31 years ago. The time, when Comecon fell apart and Hungary became a democratic republic in 1989.
It was the time of change...

The present era of late modernity has many defining characteristics but none more accurately delineates this period then globalization, interdependence of nation states and the onset of localized events with global ramifications...

Interestingly, the very experience of fear itself is the tip-off moment, the signal that a possibility for action is opening up and so a choice needs to be made.
There is no fear where there is faith.
Everything we think and feel is creating our future. If you're worried or in fear, then you're bringing more of that into your life throughout the day.
Action cures fear. Indecision, postponement, on the other hand, fuel fear.
Your fear is the sharpest definition of your self. You should know it. You should feel it virtually constantly. Fear needs to become your friend, so that you are no longer uncomfortable with it.
Genuine confidence is not the absence of fear; it is a transformed relationship with fear.
Optimism generates hope...hope releases dreams...dreams set goals...enthusiasm follows.
Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache, carries with it the Seed of an equivalent or greater Benefit.
One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.
Close scrutiny will show that most "crisis situations" are opportunities to either advance, or stay where you are.
The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one.
He responded with a classic SEAL way of looking at adversity: in the middle of a period of adversity, we have an opportunity to stress-test our own belief system.
The only disability is one’s refusal to adapt.
Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.
Fear is overcome by doing what we fear to do. Action defeats fear, just as scissors cut paper.
I’ve learned that possibly the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face.
Courage is not absence of fear; it is control of fear, mastery of fear.
